Mike Foggetta and Kevin Sousa are lifelong storytellers, surfer, and dreamer who believes the best adventures begin with a laugh. Growing up in a small beach town, they spent endless hours watching the tide roll in and imagining the kind of kids brave enough to save their school.
Kevin Sousa M.A., a co-creator, a writing partner and a true friend to Mike Foggetta. Kevin was a surf coach for the 2010 Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, California) High School National Surfing Champions. Together both Kevin and Mike spent their youth at the beach surfing while Kevin continued his studies to become a child psychologist with his practice in Hermosa Beach.
Blending real-life coastal charm with mischievous humor, Mike Foggetta and Kevin Sousa wrote adventure books for young readers that celebrate friendship, teamwork, and integrity. Rufus the Doofus grew out of a simple idea: that courage can come from anyone, even the class clown.
When not writing or catching waves, Mike and Kevin enjoy sketching new characters, visiting local schools, and helping kids discover the magic of storytelling.
